The Coordinator will be based in the Local Municipality of the flood recovery area of Nepal. The candidate will be responsible for providing support to the district and local level on post-disaster recovery and reconstruction activities and ensure information management system is in place at district level. The Coordinator will document the lessons learnt and support VSO Nepal in developing and designing a longer- term resilient programme from our learnings and experience in this flood response as per VSO Nepal resilience frame work.
Skills, qualifications and experience
The Coordinator will be selected based on his/her knowledge and experience with disaster recovery, mitigation, community development, resiliency planning, public administration concepts, and the range of national programs and inter-agency processes required for effective implementation of recovery initiatives.
Ability to manage and coordinate multi-sector and internal/external stakeholder participation Strong Leadership skills
Highly disciplined and organised approach to work. Proven analytical, strategic, computer, networking, interpersonal & time management skills, and team oriented.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Research and analytical skills and experience
Desirable:
• Experience in the area of disaster relief, response and recovery
• Experience of working in a post-disaster area.
