Role overview
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced customer focused Database Manager. Reporting to the Senior Data and Insight Manager, you will be responsible for leading the development and maintenance of existing and new technical solutions to maximise the effectiveness of data capture and the ability drive quality insight.
The post holder will:
- Maintain the database and ensure data integrity
- Develop standard import processes for incoming data to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Have strong analytical and organisational skills, an eye for detail and accuracy and the ability to understand business needs.
Working knowledge of GDPR legislation and an up-to-date knowledge of technology
This role will focus on planning and implementing VSO UK marketing database projects, with particular responsibility for the inflow of data. The post-holder will also support the recruitment and retention of donors and volunteers, optimizing the use of data tools, identifying and fulfilling related training needs and analysing outcomes to inform ongoing development. The postholder will work proactively to develop new technical solutions, improve operational efficiency and be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of security groupings.
Skills, qualifications and experience
As the successful candidate, you will have substantial experience of working with a Raiser's Edge or similar database at either key user or administrator level. You would have successfully implemented database developments and adapted the use of customer databases to match business needs. You will have extensive experience of managing cross-organisational projects that successfully deliver technical solutions and generate high levels of internal buy-in. Your proven understanding of the principles of database marketing and a record of successfully applying these principles to a range of marketing campaigns will equip you for this role. You will have a thorough grounding in statistical principles with excellent numeracy skills and an ability to manipulate, analyse and interpret data and present it visually. You will be able to build complex database queries and have extensive experience using Microsoft Access as a data manipulation tool. Your familiarity with IT development cycles means you will be able to produce testing documentation to support database development work and verify successful outcomes.
