Role overview
International Citizen Service (ICS) is an innovative youth programme led by VSO and funded by UK Government. The programme supports 18-25 year olds from the UK to work alongside in-country volunteers on projects aimed at improving the lives of some of the world’s poorest people.
The ICS Applications Manager will lead the ICS Applications team in the pre-assessment process of young people who applied to the ICS programme, including decisions on volunteer suitability, selection and agency matching by assessing applications against contractual criteria.
This is a fixed term until 31 July 2020.
Skills, qualifications and experience
Your strong data management skills and capacity in developing and maintaining administrative/data management systems will ensure that you can effectively manage a challenging expected caseload of at least 25,000 applications per year.
Your external stakeholder management skills will ensure that process meets the needs of the wider ICS consortium agencies regarding pre-assessment and applications level.
Your ability to motivate a team in a challenging environment will be crucial in prioritising workload and delivering against team objectives and overall ICS programme delivery.
